For Testing Tensile Strength of Overlays, and Overlayments

The James Bond Tester™ MK III or pull off adhesion test measures the bond strength or tensile strength of concrete, asphalt, tile, concrete repair, or other overlay material by the direct tension or pull off method. By pulling a 25mm steel disk attached to the material under the unit can,

1. Measure the near surface strength of a substrate in order to determine the substrates quality before applying an overlay
2. Determine the bond strength of a repair or overlay material after it is applied to the substrate
3. Determine the tensile strength of a repair, overlay or adhesive after the material is applied to the surface

The James Bond Tester™ MK III has been successfully used to verify the quality of existing materials, determine the adhesion strength of shotcrete, tile, epoxies, paint and other repair materials or coatings.

Pull-off type adhesion tester is designed for measuring of adhesion value of paints and other coatings on base and between layers or cohesive materials. Tensile Adhesion Tester NOVOTEST AC-4624 is manufactured in compliance with EN13144 and ISO4624, ISO16276-1.
The testing with mechanical tensile adhesion tester AC-4624 is performed in the following way. On the testing cover is glued dolly and after that, it is pulled-off with the spring-system of the device. The force which is applied for pulling-off the glued dolly, is displayed in numerical value by the indicator on scale of the device. This value – is the value of adhesion.

This dynamometer measures the adhesive force and the tensile strength of two layers of materials (concrete, facing plasters, mortars, building plasters, lime etc.) and is particularly suitable for applications concerning testing repairs of any structure where the bond strength between two layers is an essential factor.
Compact, light and suitable for use in any location, this Pull-Off Tester is fitted with a load cell and high resolution large digital display unit; it is therefore suitable for measurements from low loads up to 16 kN, granting a wide working range and ideal for a large number of applications and materials. The direct tensile force is applied by rotating the hand wheel.
The three feet of the unit can be fixed in the “large” position (overall dimensions 176mm diameter) with very stable bearing, or in the “compact” position (overall dimensions 92,5mm diameter), to perform tests in narrow spaces, or for specimens close one to the other.
